For a very simple cash closing, in a matter of hours or days. For a traditional loan closing, typically a lender needs a few weeks lead time. Ordering payoff invoices for things like open mortgages, HOA dues, judgments, can vary greatly.

My property is not near Charlotte, can you still close it?

Who typically chooses the closing attorney?
While any party CAN choose the closing attorney, logistically it is usually the Buyer who writes in the name of the closing attorney into their Offer to Purchase (which later becomes the official contract when accepted and signed by Seller). The Seller can also note in their listing or initial communications with potential buyers that they have a preferred closing attorney. Buyers or Sellers can choose a closing attorney they know personally, but often they rely on the advice of their trusted real estate agent for a referral to an excellent closing attorney.

I am selling my property, not buying. Does that mean the buyer gets to choose my attorney for me?
